OPATCH

The Open Platform for Access to and Analysis of Textual Documents of Cultural Heritage Description has started its activities. OPATCH intends to develop a platform for the analysis of digital text collections.

The project aims at giving insight to a world as documented in words on the example of the unique collection (1911-1998) of the Bavarian Dialects in the Austrian Hungarian Monarchy (estimated 200,000 headwords; estimated 4 Mio records; 5 volumes dictionary, about 50,000 headwords).

PARTHENOS

The ACDH is a cooperation partner in PARTHENOS, a project funded by the European Commission in the framework of Horizon 2020. PARTHENOSPooling Activities, Resources and Tools for Heritage E-research Networking, Optimization and Synergies — started in May 2015.

dariahTeach

The ACDH is a project partner of dariahTeach, a project funded through an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Grant. dariahTeach is developing open-source, high quality, multilingual teaching materials for the digital arts and humanities. 

DEFC

DEFC stands for Digitizing Early Farming Cultures, a project conducted in cooperation between the Institute for Oriental and European Archaeology (OREA) and the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities (ACDH). The DEFC-App is an application for curating, exploring, and retrieving archaeological datasets.

VO Ethnolinguistik: Die Relation Language - Thought - Reality
Lecturer: Karl-Georg Lettner
Content: Lexical, semantic and geolinguistic themes will be discussed, as well as issues of general linguistics and the "Philosophy of Mind"; specific issues concerning mythography, ethnology and education are main topics in the course.
The course is an introduction into the embedding of modern lexicography in linguistic research paradigm on the example of an Indian dictionary.

The Gibson Trail

The Gibson Trail, a virtual exhibition, brings together all of Gibson’s works from the most famous London collections in one website. The site provides images and information on more than 150 objects, including drawings, reliefs and sculptures.

OPATCH - new project

The Open Platform for Access to and Analysis of Textual Documents of Cultural Heritage Description is a cooperative endeavor carried out by the Institute for Specialised Communication and Multilingualism, the library Landesbibliothek Dr. Friedrich Teßmann and the ACDH.
